A Teachable and Receivable Spirit
An Inspirational Devotion From Pastor Brian
July 9, 2025
Have you ever met someone who thought they already knew it all? Truth is, that attitude can block us from growing in our faith. But when we approach God with a teachable and receivable spirit, everything changes.
We are all on a journey together. No one has it all figured out. Every single one of us is learning to follow Jesus better. Being a Christian means we follow Christ, and to follow Him, we have to get to know Him. That happens through prayer and spending time in His word.
I try my best each day to ask the Lord, “Help me understand what I’m reading. Teach me. Speak to me.” I don’t need things to be complicated. I want to understand God’s truth in a simple way so I can apply it and share it with others.
Having a teachable heart shows humility. And when we come before God with that spirit, I believe the Holy Spirit begins to open our eyes and helps us grow.
Until next time, remember to take time out for God, because God always has time for you!
Sticky Statement:
A teachable spirit opens the door to deeper truth.
Questions To Think About:
Prayer For Today:
"Lord, help me to have a teachable and receivable spirit. Give me a hunger for Your word. Open my eyes and ears to what You are saying. Help me grow in my walk with You and be ready to share what I learn with others. In Jesus’ name, amen."
Thank you for sharing this devotion with your friends.
